    Why Respia?

    Instillation of Normal Saline has been shown to inactivate the natural antimicrobial properties of upper airway secretions. Respia™ is a hypotonic, low sodium, low chloride solution formulated to be physiologically balanced to naturally mimic upper airway secretions and reduce the risk of damage to their naturally occurring immune properties.

    Physiologically Balanced, Clinically Based

    In a multi-center study, the rate of Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAP) was significantly reduced in NICUs using a physiologically balanced solution for airway care similar to Respia™ (mean 1.6/1000 ventilator days, p=0.04). In addition, the prevalence of chronic lung disease was significantly reduced among those receiving the physiologically balanced solution (Christensen et al., 2010).
